Name Changes Amplifon’ss National Hearing Center, located in the Wal-Mart Supercenter in West Mifflin, has been renamed as Amplifon Hearing Aid Center. New Business/New Office Dr. John Magera opened a practice of acupuncture in Bradfordwoods. He practiced as a dentist anesthesiologist for two decades before changing professions and obtaining certification as a diplomate in acupuncture. Call 724-799-4230. First National Bank of Pennsylvania opened a branch at One Oliver Plaza on Sixth Avenue, Downtown. The new branch offers comprehensive community banking services, a full array of commercial services, including cash management and business lending, and wealth management and private banking services. Contracts Horizon Properties, Summit Development and General Industries celebrated groundbreaking for the Hampton Inn & Suites Hotel at Chestnut Ridge Golf Resort and Conference Center in Blairsville, Indiana County. When completed in May, the five-story, 61,000-square-foot hotel will feature 93 rooms, an indoor pool and spa, and a covered walkway to all of the amenities of the Chestnut Ridge Resort at the foothills of the Laurel Highlands, adjacent to Route 22. Dividends WVS Financial Corp. declared a regular 16 cent cash dividend on the common stock, payable Nov. 16 to the stockholders of record next Monday. Awards/Honors Lynn George, Ph.D., R.N., associate dean of Robert Morris University’s School of Nursing and Allied Health, was honored with the Cameos of Caring Nurse Educator Award during this year’s Cameos of Caring Awards Gala. This is the first year that awards are being presented in the Nurse Educator category, which recognizes outstanding educators at schools of nursing for their contributions to the profession. The 2005 Greater Pittsburgh Council — Boy Scouts of America Annual Report, designed by Brady Communications, won a “Benny” award from the Printing Industries of America and the Graphic Arts Technical Foundation. The 2006 Premier Print Award was given to Broudy Printing and Brady Communication for their production of the report. The report won the international competition for Best of Category: Business and Annual Reports, four or more colors. The Bennys are named for Benjamin Franklin, who along with being an inventor and statesman, was printer of Poor Richard’s Almanack and The Pennsylvania Gazette.
