THE construction law department at York-based law firm Denison Till has been appointed to draw up contracts for the building of a crane rail system in Panama.
The rail system, for the Hong Kong Dredging Corporation at Balboa Docks, will enable cranes to travel along the rails and pick-up and drop-off materials.
Denison Till has been appointed by Canadian lawyers Black Sutherland, based in Toronto, to act on its behalf in the multi-million dollar construction project.
Denison Till is assisting Black Sutherland’s client, engineering company Gantrex USA Inc, of Pittsburgh, over the design, supply and installation of the new crane rail system for the Hong Kong Dredging Corporation.
The contract was won by Denison Till through its membership of Geneva Group International (GGI), a network of independent lawyers, accountants, tax and management consultants, whose mergers and acquisitions practice group is chaired by Denison Till corporate department partner, Andrew Lindsay.
Denison Till’s head of construction law, Gareth Hevey and Julian Still, a non-practising barrister in the firm’s construction law department, are finalising negotiations on the contracts, which confirm completion deadlines and risk management connected with the supply of goods and services for the project.
